C-MAP: Boating App Reviews

This is really a beautiful product. Way better than other expensive apps Ive tried. Pricing model is greatly improved to reflect the fact that many people do not boat year-round! Many, many thanks to the developers who made this app happen!

Bait and switch.....gets you to download app...but then wants you to buy all the features before it works. Typical deception from a lot of app creators.

I like the accessablity in the app. And that you can share points of interest with friends

Did not know you could get access to maps so easily. Great for sharing ports and fishing places.

The charts are easy to use and beautiful as well. I use it all the time to record my trips and save cool places that Ive visited. The new version is especially useful because you can download charts and use them when you dont have any cell coverage. I definitely recommend this app who anyone who enjoys boating!

Pro: Online charts paint very clear and have a nice clean look. Con: For USA users they have a very non-USA feel. More of an IALA symbol mix on a ENC or IMRAY like chart. Nearly all functions are an in-app purchase. Ill likely keep it for its clean look but continue to use other apps for boating.

Quite a fresh take on sea charts for iPad. I rarely write reviews, but I feel this one surprised me. Crisp and responsive maps, not to mention quite refreshing cartography. Keep it up!

These guys are GREAT with App Support Connections & feedback, especially Oliver. I made 2 suggestion on app enhancements. Oliver replied very quickly, was receptive and liked the ideas. I was told they are coding them in as future upgrades, I can only hope thats true. Oliver has said hed keep me updated on when theyll be complete & rolledout. Spectacular app feedback & support!! Cant wait for the enhancements.

I love sailing and I have an outdated gps on my boat and I was searching the App Store and found this. It has full markings including depth, markers, and land labels. I also love its sleek flat design which fits with iOS 8. Definite 5 stars.

I downloaded the app and it freezes on the home screen. I cannot select either option of signing up or logging in. ??????????

How does this have 15 5 star reviews I cant even log in Are they all employees and friends

Great charts until I rebooted my iPhone. I forgot my password... I couldnt reset it or communicate to the administrators to restore my account. Attempts to create a second account are thwarted on error. So dont forget your password.

Since this app does not allow either signing up for an account nor signing into an existing account, its pretty much useless. It wont go past the login screen, and will not do anything, including not letting one type in login information. Once its functional in some way, Ill revise rating. Not sure why some rate the support highly. No evidence of activity.

This app offers a great map with complex detail. The map is easily accessible and I highly recommend it for all recreational use.

No problems logging in or anything. Charts are great.

Updated review: I´m using this app quite frequently, as our family are passionate boaters. Haven´t been disappointed at all. The charts work wonderfully. Haven´t had any troubles with it. Thanks Embark for being a great addition to this boating season! I started using Embark to plan our family boating vacation. I can access all the charts i want anywhere in the US! Inland and offshore. The details are incredible and it basically makes a chart plotter obsolete. Using smaller boats for fishing or a dinghy on the inland lakes and rivers this app is the perfect way to not only navigate but plan the trips. There are 3 different light modes that are very practical in different light conditions. For me the sunshine mode worked very well as the icons are larger and it is super easy to read. The night mode is great for fishing in dusk or dawn or when being out on the water at night! wonderful stuff!

Have been using it for a month now. Sweet app. Being able to have charts on my iPhone makes boating and navigation so much more convenient! Love the app!! Perfect for boaters, fishing, kayaking and map nerds :)
